TSA Regulatory Issues Addressed by XLA at 2009 Fall Forum
WASHINGTON, Aug. 27, 2009 -- The Express Delivery and Logistics Association (XLA -
http://www.expressassociation.org) will hold its XLA 2009 Fall Forum on October 14 and 15 at Hotel Monaco in Washington, D.C. The theme of this successful meeting is:
"Surviving Today, Positioning for Tomorrow ... A Leader's Guide."
The Fall Forum is a focused meeting designed for top decision makers within the global express transportation, mail and logistics industry. The content of the Forum is designed to help these executives stay apprised of current and pending regulatory issues as well as business practices that directly impact the industry. Specific business topics for this year's Forum will include strategic planning based on forecasted industry trends, brand strategy and strategically hiring salespeople for the transportation industry.
The afternoon of the 15th will be dedicated to discussing current and pending TSA regulations as well as other legislative issues that impact directly on the express delivery industry. "There are a number of challenges facing our industry including the 100% screening of cargo mandate that is less than a year away," said Jim Conway, Executive Director of XLA, "and the Forum will address this and other issues with TSA representatives." There will be a special comprehensive and interactive session exclusively for Indirect Air Carriers (IACs) with senior Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials. This presentation will include a detailed analysis of anticipated air cargo security regulatory changes.
